The Birchwood lodge was awesome! Clean, cute, and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and gave great advice on things to do and places to eat in the area. They served great coffee and delicious scones in the morning and had an awesome porch to enjoy a view of the bay while enjoying your breakfast. We highly recommend you stay here!
I had a lovely stay in the apartment at Birchwood Lodge and Farmette. Beautiful accommodations is such a lovely setting. Perfect location for exploring Camden and the surrounding area. Would definitely stay here again - clean - comfortable - well equipped. The scone and fruit breakfast -delicious! Thank you Jenn and Eric
I'm not certain how many times we have stayed at the Birchwood, but each stay is special and has us looking forward to the next visit. Jenny and Eric are great hosts and the lodge is always very comfortable and spotlessly clean. And the farmette is fascinating. It always gives us ideas and inspiration for our own garden. Very, very highly recommended.
Birchwwod Motel is a recently remodeled with ecofriendliness in mind. You won't find carpet here. Nice clean floors, restrooms, and very comfy beds will help your traveling mind and body rest easy. A distant view of the bay is calming as well. If you get a room closer to the house, the view is better. There is a little road noise from the out yet road I front; it didn't bother me, but hubby is a light sleeper. Breakfast in the house was light and yummy with homemade scones (different flavors each day). Fresh frigid, juice, and coffee or tea. We sat on comfy furniture eating and talking with other travelers, getting great tips from them and the owner. If you are lucky, you may see a moose in the front; hey! It happened once, it could happen again! Enjoy the owner's extensive vegetable garden and chickens in the back.
We recently stayed at Birchwood for a long overdue family vacation. The rooms were very clean with a distinct freshness. The beds were firm and comfy which I had the best sleep in months. Location close to Camden and well worth the money(pricing not over the top) and experience. Privacy but also area in main house where you can meet the owner and other guests staying here. Home atmosphere in the meeting room (bring a book or lie on the outdoor hammock) where homemade scones, juice, coffee and a friendly face are present. Please make this an overnight stop if traveling to Camden or Bar Harbor. Support the local owner as many independent businesses are being taken over by chain motels/hotels. Great experience from a Michigan traveler.
